| Beginning in Zurich in 1998, the CowParade mooving art craze of using fiber glass cows in actual life size as a canvas to create through it a unique work of art, has become an internationally heralded charitable art project! What quickly followed was the arrangement of the CowParade to be hosted in many world cities, making its American debut in Chicago, followed by Houston and New York. Beginning with its command European encore in London, from Sydney to Tokyo, in Brussels, then appearing in Vegas and Dublin, the CowParade exhibit has travelled the globe. This crowd pleasing parade of cows has captured the hearts of many art lovers throughout the world. At the end of every parade exhibit, the fiber glass original cow creations are made available in a public auction, and the majority of the proceeds are donated to a chosen charity organization. Delighting cow collectors from Houston to Barcelona, the cows have been reproduced in ceramic and polyresin replica figurines. So popular are the cows that CowParade has become a well established charming collectible line. The merchandise ceramic and polyresin versions of the CowParade are painted predominantly by hand, and for some pieces foil technology is used. Each cow figurine comes with a small card with detailed information, telling the collector the name of the artist, and the city where the original appeared. For some time now CowParade has been listed in Wikipedia. What's more, many teachers order the "Paint your own cow" for their art classes! To the excitement of Americans, CowParade makes its California debut in San Diego in January 2009!
